In the 1910s, for the first time, cars entered our country, a few cars of European, American and Chinese special companies drove along the Urgu-Khiagt road. The Bogd Khan has ordered the first car from Ford, which arrived in the capital in November 1912.
In 1919-1925, the third expedition to Central Asia led by Roy Chapman Andrews from the US Museum of Natural History conducted a total of 4 studies in our country on 7 vehicles. During this period, fuel for cars and equipment was transported from neighboring countries by camel caravan.
In 1928-1932, the SOYUZ-NEFT-EXPORT company established its own branches of oil storage facilities and filling stations.
Until 1941, there was no separate organization in charge of supplying state bodies with oil products, and the representative office of the Soyuz-Neft-Export association was responsible for oil reserves and supplies and provided the country with the necessary fuels and lubricants through the oil storage facilities and filling stations it created in the aimag centers. On June 30, 1941, the Oil Supply Administration was established.
The "Mongolneft Trust" was established in 1949 to carry out crude oil exploration, production and processing in Mongolia, and the oil extraction plant was commissioned in December 1950 in Zuunbayan sum of Dornogovi aimag. The factory was transferred from the Soviet Union to our country free of charge in 1957, and the factory worked until 1969.
In Khatgal sum of Khuvsgul aimag there was founded a motor depot to supply fuel needed by Zavkhan and Khubsugul aimags, and a self-propelled tanker with a capacity of 600 cubic meters was purchased, which was of great importance in increasing the supply of fuels and lubricants imported via Khatgal and saving costs.
In October 1962, the first Oil Products Quality Control Laboratory was established at the Central Oil Depot.
By Decree of the Council of Ministers No. 175 of 1978, the Department of Oil of the Ministry of Transport was expanded and an "Oil Supply Administration" with an independent economic account was created. The creation of the Administration was an important event for improving the state oil supply, storage, transportation and usage of equipment, as well as for the further development of the oil supply system.
By Decree No. 33 of the Government of Mongolia from 1992, the Oil Import and Supply Association was transformed into the Oil Import Concern (NIC). Until that time, aimag oil depots compiled their balances independently, and all the activities of oil depots were managed and coordinated by aimag administrations.
In 1997, from the 3rd well of the exploration Tamsag depression of the Toson-Uul XIX field of the American company Soko Tamsag Mongolia, engaged in oil exploration, 1500 barrels of oil per day erupted under the natural pressure from a depth of 2421 meters.

Minimarkets "Zam Zuur" began to serve customers near the gas stations.
In June 2003, Petrovis Card LLC was established and introduced an electronic card system into the retail network, which became an advanced service that facilitates financial payments and calculations not only for consumers but also for the company.
In 2004, the State Property Committee twice announced an international Bidding on the privatization of the NIC JSC. In the second Bidding, 4 foreign and domestic companies competed, the Petrovis company won and became after privatization the leading national company with a wide network of 19 oil supply branches, 400 gas stations, and more than 2,000 employees, covering the entire country.
On December 31, 2004, we established the Petromatad LLC for oil exploration and production in order to find sufficient oil reserves in Mongolia and make the country independent in terms of energy and oil. The Petromatad LLC became the first Mongolian company whose shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange.
The Department of Standards and Metrology of Mongolia granted the certificate of "State Accredited Laboratory of Petroleum Product Quality" to Petrovis -NIC laboratory in Tolgoit.
Petrovis LLC became the first company in the oil industry to introduce ISO 9001:2008 International Quality Management System standard in 2007 in anticipation of its 10th anniversary.
In 2013, for the first time in Mongolia, we put into operation the country's largest petroleum product storage and distribution warehouse "New Tolgoit" with a capacity of 44.0 million liters, fully automated and meeting international standards, which became another innovation in the field of petroleum products business.
In 2019, the Petrovis Group became the first oil company to comprehensively implement ISO 9001:2015- Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015- Environmental Management System and ISO 45001:2018- Occupational Health and Safety Management System simultaneously in 55 operating divisions and units.
We opened the C-24 convenience store under the motto "Charge yourself", which brings international standards to Mongolia and is available in your car.
In 2020, the first fast charging station for electric vehicles was put into operation in Mongolia. This fast charger can fully charge an electric car in 15-30 minutes.
In May 2020, the Bayan-Ulgii aimag’s warehouse was put into operation in order to provide uninterrupted and reliable fuel supply to its customers in the western aimags
The warehouse has a tank farm with a capacity of 2500 m3, a filling and pouring platform of 21m by 7 m, a concrete evaporation platform with a capacity of 300 m3, a technology for simultaneous reception and loading of four types of oil products. The warehouse fully complies with the requirements of the following domestic standards and norms: "Technological facilities and general technical requirements for the storage of oil and petroleum products", MNS 5746:2007, "Fire safety of petroleum products" MNS 5282:2003 and "Fire safety of BNbD / building codes and regulations / 21 -03-04.
In 2022, the Petrovis Group received ISO certification by participating in the ISO certification of Australia-based TQCSI Mongolia, an international company accredited by JAS-ANZ in Australia and New Zealand.
We have put into operation the ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018 quality, environment, health and safety management systems of ISO standards in a unified manner, and successfully confirmed the certification of three standards for the 4th consecutive year and received the Certificate.

Thus, having successfully passed the certification audit of three types of ISO standards, known as the three cornerstones of social responsibility, we have once again confirmed that we supply our customers with the highest quality products, control the occupational risks to the health and safety of our employees, constantly improve our work, protect environment and demonstrate social responsibility.
In 2021, the Petrovis group opened a CU chain of convenience stores near 18 gas stations in Ulaanbaatar in order to satisfy the needs of its valued customers and drivers and provide a convenient service. By opening CU convenience stores at Petrovis gas stations, we have increased the choice of consumers to purchase a variety of promotional products, and have brought convenient and friendly service closer to consumers.
In 2004, Petrovis LLC won the international Bidding for the privatization of NIC LLC, announced by the State Property Committee, and, having privatized it, expanded its activities, constantly investing more and more investments in the renewal of the park and the implementation of new equipment and technology. Petrovis LLC, since the acquisition of NIC LLC, has built anew or relocated up to 205 oil filling stations and carried out a comprehensive renovation at more than 300 oil filling stations.
We also built up 6 complex oil depots, updated the fleet of 334 oil tankers, put into operation a fully automatic oil depot "New Tolgoit", the first in Mongolia, put into operation a set of 3 types of ISO standards. So far we have invested totally more than 300 billion Mongolian tugriks.
2022 marks the 80th anniversary of NIC history. The history of our company is inextricably linked with the history of the development of the oil industry, which is the basis for the development of the economy of our country. That is why we solemnly celebrated our anniversary with our dear consumers and customers, multi-generational collectives and customer organizations, who have recorded 80 years of unshakable history in the great cause of distributing development with us, leading the development of this industry with economic benefit.
